Monday Madness

Happy Monday!
I thought I would expand today and share with you some of my latest obsessions, fashion or not.

I'll start by saying I absolutely ADORE the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

These dogs are fantastic! This cutie is a happy and affectionate dog, know as the "ultimate lap dog," but sporty and outgoing as well. They generally weigh about 10-18 pounds and have a silky coat that comes in ruby (shown above), prince charles (a tri-color), king charles (black and tan), or blanheim (red and white).
My advice: always consider adoption first! But if you're looking at breeders, make sure they are responsible, do your research! I'm expecting my own little cavie in a couple weeks...I'll be sure to update with that soon!

I'm also in love with the Volkswagon Beetle convertible. Preferrably salsa red!

This little bugs get about 24 mpg, and look how cute it is! Heated seats, convertible top... yes, please :)

Mint is free and manages your money. It's safe too, trust me! I would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget (i.e college students), it really helps to know where your money is going and how you can cut back.

I love this woman! Lady Gaga is one of the most original artists out there. I recently went to her 2011 Monster Ball Tour in March, and boy does she deliver! She's crazy, yes, but she's a performer and I think she's absolutely fabulous.

Screw IPhone and Droid, we are the original smartphone. The Blackberry manages my life without being too complicated with a touchscreen and an annoying sliding keyboard. Simple, sleek, and resourceful :)

Sperry Top-sider Women's Montauk Slip-on

I'll end on this note. Sperry Top-Sider. Dress up with a straight fit skirt and cardigan, or dress down with cropped skinny jeans and a button down. Preppy and so cute :)

Enjoy!

Beauty must-try

OMBRE
It's fun with clothes, hair, and now nails! I tried this style with a dark purple nail polish and I'm loving it. I would definitely recommend trying it. Here's how:

Tools
2 paper plates
A stack of toothpicks
A clean nail polish brush
White nail polish
Nail polish of your choice (I would pick a darker color so the graduation is noticeable)

1) Paint your pinky the darkest color first.
2) Put a couple drops of the nail polish on the paper plate. Put one drop of white in it and mix with a toothpick. Paint the next nail.
3) Continue with this by adding two drops of white polish, then three.
4) For the thumb nail, add one drop of the color to a couple drops of white.

Tip: Create new drops for each nail for best results.

Enjoy!

I'm obsessed with...

Sonia Kashuk's Beautifying Blush
My favorite shade is Lily. It's a light pink with a little bit of peach in it, which looks great on every complexion. I apply it to the apples of my cheeks for a pretty glow. Great for summer!

Sonia Kashuk's Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
I love this because it's a three-in-one deal. It's a moisturizer with SPF, but has just enough coverage to give you a little color without feeling heavy and cake-y.

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm
I love this in Tulip. For once you actually get what you see. It's a balm that protects lips from sun and harsh wind/cold weather, but also has a pretty gloss color without the sticky-ness!

Victoria's Secret Limited-Edition Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Sun Goddess
Ok, so I usually hate bronzer because no matter what, they never give me that "sun-kissed glow" that I want. This one actually works! If you use a well-made kabuki brush, this bronzer goes on really well and it's the perfect glow for everyone. I apply in a circular motion around the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheeks, and jaw line for a nice summer look :)

Victoria's Secret Island Escape Sheer Fragrance Mist
I am literally obsessed with this stuff! It smells like coconut, which reminds me of summer year round, and it's not heavy but lingers just enough throughout the day. I use this with the Island Escape body wash and lotion for a signature scent.

Hit & Miss Of The Week

Blake Lively

HIT: Blake Lively always looks trendy, but she really made a statement with this look. Her peek-a-boo bandeau bra and layered turquoise necklace create a beachy look, while her high-waisted, dress-pants and multi-tonal heels give off a 40's "menswear for women" vibe. This outfit works because Lively mixes flowy fabrics and pastel colors with pleats and layers that pull together a flirty, modern look.

Kate Hudson

MISS: Kate Hudson looks like a cross between the Hulk and Kermit the Frog. This dress is very unflattering on her shape, and the heels are too chunky and complicated for such a statement-making mini-dress. Hudson should have gone with a one-shouldered mini and peep-toe platforms to draw attention away from where she lacks.

Lauren Conrad

HIT: Lauren Conrad is the epitome of sophistication. She is known for her trendy fashion staples that define her personal style and never fails to impress. Conrad dresses up a simple white mini-dress with a Joie Arietta soft sequin blazer that turns a classic staple into a tastefully sexy look.

Whitney Port

MISS: A far cry from her co-star's sophisticated look, Whitney Port is not a hit with this messy, confused look. Although slouchy is in for the fall season, this looks more like Port tried, unsuccessfully, to dress up her lounge wear. I love the leather jacket and animal print flats, but they would have looked classier with dark skinny jeans and a slouchy white v-neck. Love you Whit, but this outfit is a miss.
